Documents we will ask you for

Scanned copies are enough to begin. We will tell you which of these need notarisation, and which need legalisation if they originate outside Nepal, before you spend money on either.

  • The mark itself as a clear image file, exactly as it will be used
  • List of the goods or services the mark will cover
  • Business registration documents of the applicant
  • Date of first use in Nepal, if the mark is already in use
  • Power of attorney in our favour, in the prescribed form

What you receive at the end

  • Filed application with an official filing receipt and date
  • Search report and class recommendation
  • Registration certificate once the process completes
  • A renewal reminder on our calendar, not just yours

Questions about this service

No. Company name registration and trademark registration protect different things. Only the trademark stops another business using your brand on their goods or services.

The class is determined by the goods or services, and using the wrong one leaves you with a registration that does not cover what you actually sell. Businesses that sell across categories often need more than one class. We advise on this before filing.

It depends on whether they have registered it and on who used it first. There are routes available, including opposition, cancellation and negotiation, and the right one depends on the facts. We give you a realistic assessment rather than an optimistic one.

Filing is quick and secures your priority date. The path to a certificate runs through examination and publication and takes many months. The important thing is to file early.

Tell us what you are trying to do

Describe the business, not the legal category. We will tell you which registrations and filings apply, what they cost and how long they take, before you commit to anything.
